Instructions

  1. Prepare the Donut Batter:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
    • Pipe or spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan about 3/4 full.
  2. Bake the Donuts:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
    • Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Make the Chocolate Cream Filling:
    • Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
    • Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate chips, stirring until smooth and glossy.
    • Allow the chocolate mixture to cool slightly, then transfer to a piping bag fitted with a small tip.
  4. Assemble the Donuts:
    • Once the donuts are completely cool, use the piping bag to inject the chocolate cream into the center of each donut.
    • Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over the top of the donuts and immediately dip in chocolate sprinkles.
