Instructions
- Prepare the Donut Batter:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pipe or spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan about 3/4 full.
- Bake the Donuts:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Make the Chocolate Cream Filling:
- Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate chips, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Allow the chocolate mixture to cool slightly, then transfer to a piping bag fitted with a small tip.
- Assemble the Donuts:
- Once the donuts are completely cool, use the piping bag to inject the chocolate cream into the center of each donut.
- Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over the top of the donuts and immediately dip in chocolate sprinkles.
