This delicious Orange Date Loaf combines the sweetness of dates with the citrusy brightness of fresh oranges.
Ingredients

- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup pitted and chopped dried dates
- Zest and juice of 2 fresh oranges
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in orange zest, juice, and vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chopped dates.
- Pour batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before glazing with a mixture of powdered sugar and orange juice.
