Description

A delightful dessert combining layers of tiramisu and fresh mixed berries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brewed espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • Ladyfingers, enough to cover the bottom of the trifle dish
  • 3 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons berry liqueur (optional)
  • Additional mixed berries for garnish
  • Cocoa powder or grated chocolate for garnish

Instructions

  1. For the Tiramisu Layer: In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
  4. In a shallow dish, mix the brewed espresso and coffee liqueur (if using).
  5. Dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture briefly, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
  6. For the Berry Layer: In a separate bowl, toss the mixed berries with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and berry liqueur (if using). Let them macerate for about 15 minutes.
  7. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of a trifle dish.
  8. Spread half of the tiramisu mixture over the ladyfingers.
  9. Spoon half of the macerated berries over the tiramisu layer.
  10. Repeat the layers with remaining ladyfingers, tiramisu mixture, and berries.
  11. Cover the trifle dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld together.
  12. Before serving, top the trifle with additional mixed berries and sprinkle cocoa powder or grated chocolate on top.
  13. Serve chilled and enjoy this delightful Berry Tiramisu Trifle with friends and family.
