Description

A delicious herb stuffing perfect for any occasion, made with crusty bread, fresh herbs, and eggs.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups crusty bread, cubed and dried
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes and dry overnight or toast in oven at 300°F for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté onion and celery for 10 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in sage, thyme, and parsley and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Combine dried bread and vegetable mixture in a large bowl.
  6. Slowly add broth while mixing until moist but not soggy.
  7. Whisk eggs and gently fold into the stuffing.
  8. Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  9. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  10. Uncover and bake 20–25 minutes until golden on top.

  • This stuffing can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator until baking.
