Description
Delicious bars made with a rich caramel layer, oats, and chocolate chips.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 Cups Old-Fashioned Oats
- ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar (firmly packed)
- 1 ⅓ Cups Butter (melted, or margarine)
- 1 Bag Caramel Squares (11 ounce bags)
- ½ Cup Evaporated Milk
- ¼ Cup Heavy Cream (if you don’t have heavy cream, you can substitute with more evaporated milk)
- 1 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips
- 1 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine first 7 ingredients to make mix.
- Melt caramels, evaporated milk and cream in a saucepan over low heat, stirring often until smooth.
- Sprinkle half of the oat mixture into 8×11 or 9×13 inch pan lined with parchment paper.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over baked mixture and top with melted caramel mixture.
- Sprinkle remaining oat mixture on top.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.
Notes
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting for cleaner slices.
- Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
