- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 lime (juiced)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop out the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Mash the Avocados: Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocado to your desired texture (smooth or chunky).
- Add Lime and Salt: Stir in the lime juice and salt to the mashed avocado.
- Mix in Other Ingredients: Add the diced onion, chopped cilantro, and diced tomatoes. Stir to combine. Add minced garlic and cayenne pepper if using, and mix thoroughly.
- Taste and Adjust: Taste the guacamole and add additional salt, lime juice, or cayenne pepper according to preference.
- Serve: Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl and garnish with additional cilantro or lime wedges if desired.
Notes
- To prevent browning, keep the guacamole covered with plastic wrap directly touching the surface or store it in an airtight container.
- For extra flavor, add chopped jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos or salads.
