- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 4 cups powdered sugar
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Pink food coloring
- Pink and white edible pearls (for decoration)
- Pink heart-shaped sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9×9 inch cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, sift all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating well after each addition.
- Add heavy cream and vanilla extract; mix until combined. Add a few drops of pink food coloring and beat until the frosting is evenly colored and fluffy.
- Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous amount of pink frosting over the top. Place the second layer on top and cover the top and sides with more frosting.
- Decorate the top of the cake with pink and white edible pearls and heart-shaped sprinkles.
Notes
- For extra moistness, consider brushing the cake layers with simple syrup before frosting.
- Adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve the desired shade of pink.
- Use a serrated knife to evenly level the cake layers if needed before frosting.
