Description

A quick and delicious sautéed broccolini dish, perfect as a side or light meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces broccolini (ends trimmed)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons butter (cut into pats)
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • optional lemon juice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Add the water to a skillet and bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the broccolini and cover the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Drain the remaining water from the skillet.
  4. Return the skillet (with the broccolini in it) to the stove over medium heat.
  5. Add the butter and garlic to the skillet. Cook the broccolini, tossing often, for 2-3 more minutes or until the garlic is lightly cooked (not browned) and the broccolini is tender.
  6. Season generously with salt & pepper and serve with a little lemon juice squeezed over top if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, try adding red pepper flakes when cooking the garlic.
  • This dish pairs well with grilled meats or can be served over pasta.
