Description

Delicious grilled portobello mushrooms marinated in a savory miso blend.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • 2 tbsp white miso paste
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • chopped cilantro or green onions

Instructions

  1. Whisk together miso paste, maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a bowl until smooth to create the marinade.
  2. Coat cleaned portobello mushrooms in the marinade and let them soak for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F/200°C).
  4. Remove mushrooms from the marinade (reserve it) and grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side until tender and marked.
  5. Brush reserved marinade onto the mushrooms during the last few minutes of grilling for added flavor.
  6. Serve garnished with sesame seeds and chopped herbs.
