Description

Deliciously soft and chewy red velvet cookies rolled in powdered sugar.


Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract.
  5. Mix in red food coloring until well combined.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients until just incorporated; do not overmix.
  7. Chill dough for at least an hour in plastic wrap to prevent spreading.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll in powdered sugar, and place on baking sheets about two inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes or until set but soft in the center; allow cooling on wire racks.
