- 1 cup buttermilk

- 2 tbsp red food coloring (gel preferred)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- ½ cup powdered sugar (sifted)
- ¼ cup butter (softened)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix sugar and vegetable oil until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, followed by buttermilk, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture. Stir gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool for about ten minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For frosting, beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until fluffy. Spread generously over the cooled loaf.
