Description
Delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies that are soft and chewy.
Ingredients

- 312 grams all-purpose flour (see note)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter (softened, 2 sticks)
- 3/4 cup (149g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (161g) brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
- In a separate bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract with an electric mixer, 1 minute.
- Add in the eggs, mixing on low.
- On low, gradually beat in the flour mixture.
- With a spatula stir in the chocolate chips or nuts, if using. I didn’t add nuts.
- On a silicone mat or parchment paper lined baking sheet, add about 6-8 tablespoon sized dough balls, evenly spaced.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 15-20 minutes before transferring.
Notes
- For best results, ensure butter is softened to room temperature.
